Support Students Right To Read

Book Banning in Central Bucks is real!

Please read this letter in Support of Students’ Right to Read and consider taking the following actions:

1. Share this information with others.

2. Attend school board and school committee meetings each month. Information for these meetings is in the attached letter. Make a public comment or lend support to those who do. The right wing conservatives show up and make public comment at ALL the meetings. We need to show up too.

The calendar for the CBSD can be found at: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/1820#calendar2428/20220527/month

The Central Bucks Board of School Directors holds its regular public School Board Meetings for calendar year 2022 at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month (except for November and December) at the Central Bucks School District's Educational Services Center:

16 Welden Drive, Doylestown, PA

3. Write an email to your school principal, teachers and librarians to let them know you support your children's first amendment right to access reading materials and you do not support censorship or hiding materials in the classroom. Teachers are working in a hostile environment and need our support. Copy Superintendent Dr. Abram Lucabaugh and your local school board rep or school board president Dana Hunter so they are aware of your position and your support of our teachers.

4. Write a letter to the editor in support of book selection by qualified school librarians and teachers. Say NO to book banning in CBSD.
