CBSD Superintendent Raise not Warranted

Superintendent Lucabaugh claims spoils of the Bucks County culture wars — Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial

This raise is yet another reason why we must flip the board this November. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Editorial Board wrote, "Lucabaugh has presided over an exhausting and divisive couple of years that have saddled taxpayers with unnecessary legal bills and tarnished the reputation of a highly regarded school district. For that, he got a 40% raise."

From CBSD Neighbors United:

The Central Bucks School Board majority - Dana Hunter, Leigh Vlasblom, Debra Cannon, Lisa Sciscio, Sharon Collopy, and James Pepper - gave Superintendent Abe Lucabaugh a nearly 40% salary increase. To do this, Dr. Lucabaugh had to resign in the middle of his current contract, and be immediately rehired under a new 5-year contract with a salary of $315,000/year.

CBSD Neighbors United’s Reasons for Opposing Dr. Lucabaugh’s Raise

This election, let's show Central Bucks we are better than this board majority. Let's bring smart budgets, strong leaders, and safe schools to our students and to our community.

We can do this! We must win 4 out of the 5 races to flip control of the Board and reverse the policies of censorship and harassment, but

  • D candidates won more R votes by a margin of 16% to 33% when cross-filed on the R ballot

  • Noteworthy: Rick Haring bested Republican Aarati Martino, garnering 33% of the R votes (cross-filed on the R side), with a total of 2,374 votes vs Martino’s 1,052. Martino’s spouse, Paul Martino, is a major donor who bankrolled 30+ radical school board candidates across the region during the last school board election

Undue Influence Indeed

One piece of advice I've given ALL new sex workers who've asked Me for such is:

Never allow any one client to be a key source of your money.

Why?

It gives them tremendous power over you, of course.

I guess no one told Supreme Court Justices that.

A vote for Gibson and Haring, a vote against Central Bucks Bullying

Gerry Bogatz's Op-Ed from The Herald, posted May 4th, 2023:

I listened to the recent Central Bucks School District special board meeting on Zoom when the law firm hired by the board — Duane Morris — presented its findings about whether the district failed to address “persistent and severe bullying of LGBTQ+ students.”

While there is clearly honest disagreement among board members about the issues at hand, I was astounded when one of the board members — Jim Pepper — called out another as a “psychopath.” And I was equally astounded when no one, including the chair of the board, called out Mr. Pepper for making such an inappropriate statement that was clearly intended to intimidate and silence his colleague.

Bullying behavior can include a lot of things, but it surely includes verbal behavior that intends to cause harm. Do board members understand what bullying behavior is? Are they trained to identify it and control it when it’s right in front of them? How can such a board be entrusted to set policy for our students when one of its members engages in bullying behavior in front of the entire community and nothing is said or done to stop it?

It’s time to change the makeup of the board and vote for Susan Gibson and Rick Haring, both of whom will work to end all acts of bullying no matter the age of the one doing the bullying.
